Blue Bird Shoes

I found the cutest company on Instagram....BLUE BIRD SHOES.  They are located in Brazil (but do ship to the US) and make the most comfortable handmade shoes.  I fell in love with their "Vogue" pair in black velvet.  They have so many adorable designs..it is hard to choose.   You can even make a custom pair.  To see all the styles click HERE.

Statement Earrings for Spring

Im starting to think of Spring and what I need
in my wardrobe.  I really cannot think of anything...I have a
bunch of outfit making tops and I have all the decorated jeans
(tuxedo stripe, rough hem, etc).  Both of these will go
strong for the Spring season.  However, I would love
a couple of pairs of statement earrings to bring my clothes
to the next level.  Here are some of my favorites!!  Happy
Shopping!!!

Book Club Monday

Today's Book Club Monday choice is Conversations with Friends by Sally Rooney.  This book has been getting so much positive feedback.  It is one of  Vogue's best books of 2017.  Here is the story:

Frances is a cool-headed and darkly observant young woman, vaguely pursuing a career in writing while studying in Dublin. Her best friend and comrade-in-arms is the beautiful and endlessly self-possessed Bobbi. At a local poetry performance one night, Frances and Bobbi catch the eye of Melissa, a well-known photographer, and as the girls are then gradually drawn into Melissa's world, Frances is reluctantly impressed by the older woman's sophisticated home and tall, handsome husband, Nick. However amusing and ironic Frances and Nick’s flirtation seems at first, it gives way to a strange intimacy, and Frances’s friendship with Bobbi begins to fracture. As Frances tries to keep her life in check, her relationships increasingly resist her control: with Nick, with her difficult and unhappy father, and finally, terribly, with Bobbi.

Desperate to reconcile her inner life to the desires and vulnerabilities of her body, Frances's intellectual certainties begin to yield to something new: a painful and disorienting way of living from moment to moment. Written with gem-like precision and marked by a sly sense of humor, Conversations with Friends is wonderfully alive to the pleasures and dangers of youth, and the messy edges of female friendship. - Amazon.com

Boozy Brunch

I finally tried the Boozy Bruch at Beauty and Essex.  I have been reading about it for a while.  I have sent people there but never tried it myself.  And I was soooooooo impressed.  The food was great, the champagne flowing AND THEN the upstairs turned into a disco.  Everyone finished eating and went upstairs. Beauty and Essex is the uber cool restaurant that you enter through a pawn shop on the lower east side.  The scene is totally cool with bouncers, and glamour and dramatic lighting!!!  I highly recommend it.  Bon Weekend!!!!

Should You Use A Face Oil

About a year ago I started using a face oil at night.  I was very hesitant.  I thought it would make me break out and I really didn't need that!!!!!  However, it was the best things I have ever done for my skin.  Oils are much better for your skin than night and day creams.  They hold in moisture, and contain "superhero" nutrients, like essential acids.  The result will be healthier, younger looking skin with a fresh glow, without the use of harsh chemicals.   Also with a face oil, a little goes a long way and with just a couple of drops, you will see results almost immediately!!!!!  Here are some of my favorites!!!

This is the one I use.  I have tried a few and this one works the best for me.  Click To Buy.

I also tried this one and really liked it as well! Click To Buy
Here is a good less expensive option if you just want to try oils for the first time.  Click To Buy.

Here is the one Gwyneth LOVES,  I used it for a while but I think it is too thick for me.  Better for dryer skin!!!  Click To Buy.

Boucherie

Last week I was invited to the newly opened second location of Boucherie on Park Ave S. Jerome Dihui, the chef of the meat packing now closed Pastis, is the executive chef.   Pastis was one of my favorite restaurants so I was so excited to check Boucherie out!!!  The menu is quintessential chic French Bistro.  There is a fabulous charcuterie counter for carving special imported meats.  The cocktails contain French and Martinique based spirits.  I loved the entire experience.  Everything was outstanding!!! I would say it is a "must try". For more information or to make a reservation, click HERE.
