Bow and Drape

I found the absolute greatest clothing company, Bow and Drape!!  The cheeky pieces come with the cutest sayings in sequins on sweatshirts, tees, jackets and even pet clothes!!  Bow and Drape has been featured lately in all the top magazines and TV shows.  My girls are obsessed and so am I.   They wear them with jeans, leggings and jean shorts. You can even customize your own saying.  My favorite is "Vogue For Breakfast"!!!  To see the entire must have collection, click HERE.

Thank you to Bow and Drape for sponsoring this post but as always, all thoughts and opinions expressed above are my own.

Book Club Monday

Happy Memorial Day!!! I just love this week's Book Club Monday choice!!!  It is It Happens In The Hamptons:A Novel by Holly Peterson.  The Hamptons is one of my favorite places soooo I know this book is going to be fab.  I cannot wait to read it is the story:

When Katie Doyle moves across the country to the Hamptons, she is hoping for summer employment, new friends for her young son, and a chance to explore a new love affair with a dazzling investor. What she finds is a strange cocktail of classes, where society’s one-percenters vacation alongside local, hard-working people who’ve lived in the Hamptons for generations. Though she’s looking forward to their move, Katie is wary about mingling with her boyfriends’ East Coast elite circles. She soon discovers Southampton isn’t all that it seems to be on the surface—and neither are the people who live there.
As George takes Katie on a whirlwind tour of country clubs, haute couture, and lavish events, she is amazed to witness sudden whims become dire needs, extra-marital affairs blossoming right and left, and people purchase friends and loyalties like a pair of shoes. Even the middle-class townspeople maintain a determined façade while maneuvering like sharks among the wealthy summer invaders.
The more Katie becomes immersed, the more she learns the secrets of both the upstairs and downstairs, the upper crust and middle of the road. The combustion between the classes becomes explosive as the summer tears on. Betrayals, a sexual predator, and a missing person lost in murky waves drive the reader on a racing Learjet ride through impossible twists and turns until landing at the shocking conclusion. When she meets Luke, a local surfer and middle school teacher, he makes her question what it is she really wants as she understands the life she’s begun for herself is built on shifting Hamptons’ dunes. -

Weekend Real Estate Stalking

This week's Weekend Real Estate Stalking choice is a house in my own neighborhood.  This is such a great home and the owners have the most incredible talent.  Both have careers in creative fields and this house totally reflects that.  Also, it has a great view of Long Island sound in the distance.  For more information please contact Barbie Haynes.

Fashionable Friend Friday

This week's Fashion Friend Friday is Glenn Close.  She is starring once again as Norma Desmond, in a limited Broadway engagement of Sunset Blvd. Last night I joined Show Score for their Member's Night at Sunset Blvd.  I can honestly say that this was one of the most amazing Broadway performances I have ever seen. Glenn Close's Norma left me speechless.  She was absolutely incredible.  I could watch her again and again and again.  For more information or to purchase discount tickets, click HERE.

Book Club Monday

With High School Graduations upon us and the rising seniors deep into college admission drama, I thought Where You Go Is Not Who You'll Be: An Antidote to the College Admissions Mania by Frank Bruni would be the perfect Book Club Monday choice for this week.  The important message of this book goes like this:

Over the last few decades, Americans have turned college admissions into a terrifying and occasionally devastating process, preceded by test prep, tutors, all sorts of stratagems, all kinds of rankings, and a conviction among too many young people that their futures will be determined and their worth established by which schools say yes and which say no.

That belief is wrong. It's cruel. And in WHERE YOU GO IS NOT WHO YOU'LL BE, Frank Bruni explains why, giving students and their parents a new perspective on this brutal, deeply flawed competition and a path out of the anxiety that it provokes. -

War Paint

There is a new broadway show out by the creators of Grey Gardens (my absolute FAVORITE) called War Paint staring broadway greats Patti LuPone and Christine Ebersole.  The story is based on the rivalry between Helena Rubinstein and Elizabeth Arden, two of the great beauty icons who shaped the cosmetics industry.  I am going to organize a night out with our sponsor Show Score in June.  Stay Tuned and Bon Weekend!!!!!

Skillet BLT Panzanella

The heat today in New York is unreal.   At one point during the day it reached 99 degrees!!!!  I guess summer is in full swing.  I really want to focus on making more salads this summer.  Last year we all took turns making different ones and it was so great.  I hope to keep that going for sure!!!!  This Panzanella salad looks incredible.  I am going to try it over the weekend!!!  Bon Appetit!!!!

adapted from
  • 12 oz. thick-cut bacon, cut into 1" pieces
  • 2 c. ciabatta bread, torn into small pieces
  • kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 5 oz. arugula
  • 1 lb. very ripe tomatoes, mixed varieties, and sizes cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 c. chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 c. torn basil leaves
  1. Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat and add bacon in an even layer. Fry until crisp, about 5 minutes. Transfer bacon using a slotted spoon onto a paper towel-lined plate and set aside. Remove half the bacon fat and reserve.
  2. Make croutons: Return pan to medium heat and toss bread in bacon fat; season with salt and pepper. Toast until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Transfer croutons to a bowl and set aside.
  3. Add remaining bacon fat to sauté pan and toss with garlic over medium heat. Sauté until garlic is softened and fragrant, 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir together with balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add arugula, tomatoes, red onion, parsley, and croutons; toss together with dressing. Top with bacon and basil and serve immediately.

I am so excited to announce today that I have partnered with one of my absolute FAVORITE designers,  Moans Jewelry to bring you some beautiful unique pieces over the next few months. This month they have made the most beautiful statement earrings with Parisian vintage beads. There is a very limited amount available so act quickly!!!!

I love all of the colorways.  I cannot decide which are my favorite. I can see these worn all summer long to parties with dresses or to the theater with a chic pants suit.  However you style these, they are sure to become a favorite for years to come!!
