Frank Sinatra's Fettuccini

The weather here in the North East is so terrible.  It is hailing, raining and thundering!  I think I just saw lightening!!!!!!  Yikes!!!!  I thought it time for some real comfort food.  I came across this recipe a few weeks ago and tried it.  My family flipped over it...you have to try.   The story goes that Frank was a incredibly accomplished cook.  He favored dishes from Italy and he lived by the mantra that a gentleman should be able to make a good meal for himself and his lady.  Bon Appetit!!!!!

1 8 oz package of fettuccini
1/4 cup buter
1/2 whipping cream
1/4 cup plus 2 tbs grated Parmesan cheese
salt and black pepper

Cook fettuccini until it is al dente.  Drain pasta.  While pasta is cooking, make sauce by melting butter in a saucepan on low heat.  Remove butter from heat; blend cream and cheese into it.  Return to heat and simmer thoroughly, season with salt and pepper.  Careful not to let the sauce come to a boil.  Add the sauce to the pasta and let stand, covered, for a couple of minutes.  Garnish with parsley.  Serve.
